Wisdom Group

Senior Saints

The Wisdom Group was established to encourage members of New Wine Assembly who are 50 years and older to be involved in activities that foster spiritual growth and health, including educational pursuits, evangelistic outreach and various fellowship events.

Our ministry gives senior adults a place to continue to grow in their faith and to show the wisdom they have achieved through experience.

The great thing about our seniors is that some of them may be retired from their work, but they are not retired from God’s work.

We are grateful to God for the senior adults of our church as they serve as repositories of Godly wisdom that the church draws from on a regular basis.

Young Adult Ministry

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

The New Wine Assembly Young Adults Ministry is a diverse group of people at different periods in their early adulthood journey: recent college graduates, graduate school attendees, young working professionals, newly married, business owners etc. We are a passionate group of young people who are committed to finding and living God’s purpose for our lives to the fullest measure.

We model the Kingdom’s standard of excellence in all the components of life that affect young people. These include relationships, family, career, and academics with the understanding that our young people are at very critical junctions in their lives, and many of the decisions they take will dramatically shape their adult lives. We want to ensure that with constant mentoring from the Bible, our young people have all the resources they need to make the right decisions when faced with competing choices and ultimately receive the outcome the Bible promises – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

The Teens Ministry

The gospel of Christ has passed from generations to generations through consistent discipleship and mission.

At RCCG New wine Assembly, we recognize the impact of producing generations of disciples that fear the Lord and love His community. This has necessitated the need to pass the baton of our faith in Jesus Christ to our teenagers and we see this as both a kingdom responsibility and an eternal privilege.

The Teens ministry of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, New Wine Assembly is the bridge between the Children’s Church and the Adult Congregation. The ministry is for those within the age-group of 13 – 18 years old.

The key objective of the Teens ministry in RCCG New Wine Assembly is to support and encourage teenagers to identify who they are both in the world and in Christ, use this knowledge to grow spiritually in the fear of the Lord and socialize with others within the community and in the society as an example of a child of God (1st Tim. 4:12).

The Teens ministry in RCCG New Wine Assembly provides an avenue for teenagers to express themselves in areas of interest such as Academics, Art, Music, Dance, Book review and Bible study among their peers and with adults. To achieve this, the ministry seeks to engage each teenager with the purpose of identifying and developing their God given gifts and talents. The ministry helps teenagers to be critical thinkers and leaders so as to reach out to their own generation and the world around them as solution providers.

We desire our teenagers to make Jesus Christ known to others while concurrently building healthy relationships and experiencing meaningful fellowship. In general, the teen’s ministry aims at enhancing what the parents are doing at home, but not entirely replacing it.

To achieve our objective, teenagers are consistently involved in the following:

Worship:

Help teenagers understand how to worship God and express worship in all of life.

Prayer:

Help teenagers understand reason for prayer, how to pray to God and when to pray to God.

Discipleship:

Provide teenagers the opportunity to learn, grow, and serve as disciples of Jesus as well as workers in the vineyard of the Lord.

Ministry:

Help teenagers discover how God has uniquely made them to serve Him and people as well as areas where they can conveniently be effective in the service of the Lord.

Fellowship:

Create a conducive atmosphere filled with the Holy Ghost for them to socialize with the church community whilst having fun being in Christ.

Evangelism:

Give them opportunities to receive Christ and share God’s loving invitation of salvation and wholeness with other teenagers in their schools, neighborhood and other social communities.

Meeting:

The Teens Ministry meets every Sunday between 7pm – 8.30pm on Zoom (during COVID-19 restrictions) OR between 10am-11.45am (once restrictions are lifted).

Children's Department

God established a testimony…which He commanded our fathers to teach to their children that the next generation might know…so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God… Psalm 78:5-7

Our aim is to build God’s children for the future. At New Wine Assembly we want Sunday to be the best day of the week for everyone, especially children!

We provide a safe, spiritual and fun environment where God’s Word comes to life through creative kid’s drama, contemporary children Christian music, the latest Christian videos, innovative lessons and much more. In our age appropriate classes, your child will laugh, learn, play, explore, grow, feel loved, and won’t want to leave.

Children Age

NWA Children Ministry serves ages 2 – 12 yrs. We strive to work in partnership with parents in the spiritual nurturing and growing of their children. Our goal is for every child to have a firm foundation in the knowledge of God’s Word and to experience God’s Love.

NWA Children Ministry recognizes the importance of a child’s spiritual life and so strives utmostly to nurture them all year long. Please join us, serve with us, and watch the children grow in God’s love with us.

Sunday School Ministry

“But as for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty” Matthew 13:23 (NRSV)

In the parable of the sower, Jesus explained how life changing the word of God is. When someone hears the word of God and understands it, they are transformed and a harvest is produced! This is the intent of our Sunday School Ministry!

Our Sunday School Ministry is one of our most exciting ministries! Our Sunday School time is usually a time of encouragement and fellowship  with other Christians in our church family. From the Teenagers to the Senior Saints, all are taught the precious Word of God in a practical, age-appropriate manner.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, our teachers help explain the depth of God’s word using the church’s official manual that is developed and strongly rooted in the Bible.

Even though our main focus is studying the word of God, we also pray together each month. Members of the ministry do have love-feasts and retreats periodically.

In our ministry, we are resolved to be patient and prayerful about who serves on the team. We are eager to have you join our group of teachers if you are F.A.T (Faithful, Available and Teachable).

Ushering

“Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40).

Here at New Wine Assembly, we aim to usher our members and visitors to worship God in a safe and comfortable environment.

We are responsible for welcoming parishioners into the church auditorium and help them find seats and accommodate the needs of our guests. We ensure free flow of members in and out of the sanctuary.

We are the caregivers/caretakers of church members and visitors during every church service.

At New Wine Assembly, our ushers:

  • Direct members and visitors to available seats in the sanctuary.
  • Help those who need special seating or accommodations.
  • Collect offerings and tithes at the appointed time during the service.
  • Distribute pamphlets, church bulletins, and other literature on the church to visitors as they arrive and as they depart.
  • Keep individuals and items out of the aisles to allow easy traffic flow and conform to fire safety codes.
  • Represent the church by keeping a smiling face at every service.

We serve the church through hospitality, courtesy, educating our visitors, and creating a welcoming environment, we set the tone for every member’s personal experience with God while in church.

Follow-Up & Counseling

The follow-up department is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for people attending our church services for the first time. As the first representatives of the church that our newcomers interact with, we work very hard to ensure our new attendees have a full sense of our church’ commitment to love, family, and community. We ensure they have the best worship experience as first timers, collating their prayer requests, and offer them informational resources to any inquiries they may have. Our goal is to lay the first foundation towards building a strong and lasting relationship between the church and our first timers.

Visitation Ministry

“Let brotherly love continue” Hebrews 13-1

“…when I was sick you visited me…” Matthew 25:36

The Visitation Team of New Wine Assembly makes personal visits to those who due to illness, child birth or other reasons are temporarily or permanently home bound, hospitalized, in a convalescent center, or recuperating at home.

Visitation may be for the short term or ongoing. We strive to provide care, comfort, companionship, encouragement when on visitation duties thus extending the compassion of Jesus Christ to members of New Wine Assembly and our community.

Every single member of the New Wine family can be a part of our ministry.  If you have been wondering what you can do to make a difference in someone’s life, or how you can get involved within the church family, this is the ministry for you. You can sign up as a member of the ministry and be given assignments like making phone calls, sending cards, taking food, or just helping someone in their time of need.

Through serving in our Ministry, you can build on your spiritual qualities and exercise your vibrant faith. If you are willing and able to take on a task, please join us.  We need you.

Evangelism Ministry

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

“…How then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? and how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news” – Romans 10:14-15

Jesus said in John 20:21 “…As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”

God has given us the authority and the power to reach out and share Jesus without fear. “… you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me…” Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

We evangelize because:

  • We are commanded to do so. (Matthew 4:19, John 15:16)
  • We are motivated by the Love of Christ to share. (II Corinthians 5:14)
  • Without Christ everyone is lost (I John 5:11,12)

The objectives of the Evangelism Ministry are to:

  • Develop an effective program of evangelism throughout the church community to encourage corporate and personal evangelism.
  • Develop comprehensive and practical programs of evangelism in our local community
  • Develop literature and programs for the cultivation of a devotional life, active in prayer and study
  • Provide training for persons interested in the field of evangelism.
  • Develop a calendar and encourage the entire congregation to participate in year round programs of evangelism.

Here at the Evangelism Ministry of New Wine Assembly, our desire is to be God’s instrument of reaching out to new people who will delight in God through the knowledge of and a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are looking to connect to a ministry and wondering where you should start, God is calling you to Evangelize. Please join us.

Music Ministry

“And He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear, and will trust in the Lord” – Psalms 40:3

“Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing.”- Psalm 100:2

“The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord…” – 2 Chronicles 5:13

Ministry through music is a centerpiece of worship and fellowship at New Wine Assembly. As a group, the Music Ministry has a goal of presenting music that glorifies our God, that edifies the saints and that brings others to Christ while magnifying the message of salvation.

We serve through praise and worship, and set the atmosphere to edify those in the worship service and the community at large.

The songs we sing are rooted in scripture and do convey scriptural concepts that impact our lives throughout the week.

We acknowledge that our musical gifts and talents are from God and so we use them to His glory. For us, it is all about Him. Our church is blessed to have gifted singers and skillful instrumentalists who participate in our ministry week after week.

Even though we are open to anyone who feels called to use their gifts and talent in our ministry, we are resolved to be patient and prayerful about who serves on the team. We are eager to have you join our group if you are F.A.T (Faithful, Available and Teachable).
